MINUTES OF SECRET WOODS HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION MEETING

DATE OF MEETING: April 4, 2016

LOCATION: 3125 Chapelwood Lane

BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: David Theus, Katherine Frazier, Mark Wnuk, Sharon Snow, Mike Byrd, Aaron Ward

NEIGHBORS PRESENT: Byron DeLong, Marianne Pophal

Meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. The minutes from the March 2016 board meeting were accepted as written. The financial statement prepared by Mark Wnuk was accepted as written.

OLD BUSINESS:

DOMAIN NAME: Our domain name has been successfully renewed thanks to the efforts of Aaron Ward and Joe Miller.

NEW SPRING FOR POOL HOUSE DOOR: A new spring has been installed in the pool house door.

ANNUAL DUES: As of our meeting 34 families have renewed their annual homeowner dues.

POOL FURNITURE: Sharon Snow, David Theus, and Laurie Flynn have been in charge of getting our pool furniture re-coated for the new season. Ten pieces have been picked up for repair, and upon return in approximately three weeks, the remaining furniture will be picked up for re-coating and repair. Sharon is in the process of mending the torn seat cushions.

POOL DECK AND TENNIS COURTS: The pool deck and tennis courts have been pressure washed and are ready for the spring/summer season.

ANNUAL BUDGET: With input from the board, and after much discussion, the new budget for 2016-2017 was approved and will be presented at our annual neighborhood meeting.

TABLE TOPS AT THE POOL: David Theus painted the table tops and adhered small signs on each table to request users of the tables and umbrellas to kindly close the umbrellas when they leave. This is in an effort to save the expense of replacing the umbrellas each year.

SWHOA GARAGE SALE: Our spring neighborhood garage sale has been organized by our neighbor, Sherrie Mourhous, and is scheduled for this Saturday, April 9th from 8:00am to 2:00pm. Anyone interested in participating needs to put their items out in their driveway the morning of the event.

CELL TOWER: The cell tower is losing its pine tree look, and David Theus has been diligently researching to find the source for repairs. This has been a two months project and is still on-going. He plans to contact our councilman this week.

NEW BUSINESS

LANDSCAPING AROUND POOL: Mark Wnuk has taken the lead on this project and is currently getting bids on mulch as well as the labor to spread. It was suggested we also get bids on sand to fill in around the bulkhead. The board approved an expenditure of up to $600 for this project.

TENNIS COURT BENCHES: After David’s research on tennis court benches, the board discussed the styles and costs of each bench. The vote was passed to purchase two benches with rounded edges and curved seats, for safety to the tennis players, with an estimated cost of $635 for two benches that would include shipping. Aaron Ward is continuing the research to compare pricing and shipping costs before an order will be placed.

ANNUAL SWHOA MEETING: Our annual homeowners meeting will be held at Southpoint Baptist Church on Monday, May 2, beginning at 7:00pm. We encourage everyone to attend, but if you are unable to attend, please return your proxy to a board member.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:30pm.

Respectfully submitted,
Katherine Frazier
