Front Pond Fountain Fixed

Secret Woods Homeowners Association Board Meeting

Monday, June 11th 2018

  1. Certify Quorum:
    1. Board Members: Kathy Williams, Sharon Snow, Beth Reiney, Lisa DeMascio, Velma Milliner
    2. Byron DeLong and Mark Lemmenes
  2. Meeting Called to Order: 6:36pm
  3. May minutes were approved as submitted
  4. Financials:
    1. No report pending the final transfer of the accounts to Sharon (ETA: before end of week)
    2. Previously approved payments pending:
      1. Annual meeting refreshments ($61.31) – Kathy Williams
      2. Plants ($62.46) – Mark Lemmenes
    3. For approval:
      1. Division of Corporation filing updates ($61.25) – David Theus – moved, seconded and approved
    4. Old Business
      1. Fence/Column repair – We have a $700 estimate from Hercules Fence Company to perform fence repair at both entrances and attempt to level the rear entrance column on the Northwest corner. After discussion, the decision was made to table the project due to several other large pending expenses.
      2. Tennis court windscreens – There is a $2870 estimate from Court Surfaces of Florida, LLC to replace the windscreens around the entire court. After discussion, the decision was made to table the project due to several other large pending expenses. In the meantime, the damaged screens will be taken down.
      3. Pool deck – There is an estimate of $2495 to grind and fill the cracked area between the pool deck and lip, repair a 2×2 foot hollow section, install new ladder escussion cups and repair a missing number tile. These are items needed to pass inspection. This was moved, seconded and approved.
      4. Palm tree maintenance – There is a $150 estimate from Palm Trees by Trent to trim the two palm trees at the pool and haul the debris. This was moved, seconded and approved.
      5. Entrance landscaping – To date, the entrances have been cleared and Mark Lemmenes has gotten a bid from Native and Uncommon Plants for supplies, labor, mulch etc. The total estimate comes to $3310.58. $1100 of that was previously approved. After discussion, the decision was made to table the project until later in the summer (August/September) due to several other large pending expenses.
      6. Pond fountain repair – There is an estimate of $3142.59 to repair the fountain in the main pond. This was moved, seconded and approved. We will seek advice on best ways to prolong fountain life.
    5. New Business:
      1. Pool license fee – This fee of $325 was moved, seconded and approved. Kathy will submit the operating permit and follow up with Paradise Pools on the pool jet measurement that is now required.
      2. Bookkeeping – The books to be reviewed by Debbie’s Accounting Service once accounts are transferred.
    6. Miscellaneous
      1. Two sprinkler heads will be repaired at the Tiger Hole entrance, for now the zone has been turned off.
      2. A friendly reminder to be courteous with parties at the pool by removing party trash to your personal garbage can. There is no trash pick-up at the pool. Nearby neighbors are having to put it in their cans.
      3. One of the lights at the mail box is out. Lisa to attempt a repair.
      4. The maintenance neglect of one of the lots was discussed. Owners will be contacted.
