Secret Woods Homeowners Association Board Meeting
Date: August 4, 2014
Board Members Present: Dan Flynn, Sharon Snow, Pam Miles, Michael Byrd and Katherine Frazier. Also present: Rob Hagen, Byron DeLong, Dave Hargnett, David Theus and Laurie Flynn.
Certified Quorum 6:03 p.m.
Approval of the July minutes. Motion by Michael Byrd and seconded by Sharon Snow. Motion Carried.
Also, after some discussion, minutes of the board meeting to be posted on the bulletin board within 10 days of board meeting. Minutes will be sent to the board members first and with a quorum of board members responding ok to post, the minutes will be posted with a disclosure that they have not been approved.
Financials: Mark Wnuk was not present to present. Updates by Dan Flynn on the following:
• JEA Bill was not correct for June and July’s billing.
• Bugout 7/1/2014 service is increasing to $96.
• Hazouri Electric about $1100 – final bill has not been received for deep end light.
• Paradise Pools $209 for new auto fill float
• Crown Pools $143.81 for shallow end light bulb
• HOA dues and annual meeting for $149.70 for reimbursement to Dan Flynn for materials/postage.
• Three Umbrella repairs – $221.49 – $73.83 = $147.56
Old Business:
• Movie Night – New Date TBD
• Dark Streaks on pool decking – No update
• MyFloridaLicense.com – Rob Hagen to give Dan Flynn the userId and password
• Website Updated – Directories have not been printed or distributed yet.
• Umbrellas – Repairs have been completed, one was under warranty.
New Business:
• Gallagher Insurance – We received a renewal policy notebook. Sharon Snow volunteered to review the policy.
• Additional Projects – Discussed area around the mailboxes. Sharon will contact JEA to see what they would be responsible for. Also, discussed the creeks in the neighborhood. Dan will invite Susan Hill to our next meeting for an update on this.
• Neighborhood Activities – Ideas for upcoming events are Ice Cream Social (Labor Day), Holiday Parade, Chili Cook-off (Oct/Nov), Hay ride (Christmas time frame), Block Party and Garage Sale (Nov). Pam Miles volunteered to head the social activities along with her husband, Mike.
Open Discussion –
Miscellaneous and Violations – New roof and house painting – Secret Woods Trail. Dan was contacted by homeowner about approval of type of roof and color of house paint. No response from homeowner on specifics.
Next meeting will be on September 8, 2014 at the home of Dan Flynn.
