SECRET WOODS BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING
JANUARY 8, 2007

HOMEOWNERS ATTENDING: John Loving, Byron DeLong

CALL TO ORDER: 6:30 p.m.

MINUTES: The minutes were approved and accepted.

TREASURER‘S REPORT: Balance as of 12/1/06: $22,730.64
Expenses: 4,917.88
Balance as of 12/31/06: $17,812.76

CD: $15,000.00: matures May 5, 2007
Treasurer’s Report was approved and accepted.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

Architectural Committee Report: To date, no shrub or evergreen has been planted to conceal the air conditioner. A letter will be mailed to that 
homeowner.

Homeowners Association Insurance: To date, one company has responded and will send an estimate. Additional companies will be contacted.

Newsletter: The next newsletter will come out in February. Many positive remarks have been received about our first edition. You may pick up the next newsletter in the box at the community bulletin board. Please contact Wayne Williams or Dale Elzie with your ideas and items of interest. Also, you may go to the Secret Woods home page. This provides much interesting reading and 
there is a pictorial history as well. Minutes are also posted here. 

Go to the internet and type in Secret Woods.com. The committee will meet on 1/17/07.

Lawns: One homeowner has been contacted about the need to mow that lawn and provide regular lawn care. A letter is forthcoming.

Vehicles: Two letters are being sent to homeowners for vehicle non-compliance.

Covenants/Review/Recommendations: Initial recommendations have been made and these are under review by the board members. This is a critical issue  which will help ensure that our property values remain competitive and our neighborhood maintains its lovely character.

Pool Work: The contracts have been signed and the pool work will begin shortly. The texture and color scheme and decorative tile mosaics were selected. The board approved an additional $200.00 to cover any extra expense which the decorative tile mosaics may cost. Portofino Pools is being contacted about this work in order to postpone chemical treatment to the pool during the time of repair.

Luminaria: There was an excellent response, with all but five homeowners participating. A resource file has been set up so that we may use it for our Christmas 2007 Luminaria.

NEW BUSINESS:

Yard of the Month Rotation Scheme: The board is reviewing the present way in which the Yard of the Month is selected. This will be discussed further next month.

Tennis Courts: The tennis screen has been temporarily repaired and further work needed is being addressed

Work Day: A work day and neighborhood party is being planned for sometime after pool completion. One of the main items will be to stain the fence. Stay tuned for further details.

Speeding: It has come to the attention of the Board that more people than usual are speeding in our neighborhood. If you have been speeding, please slow down. There are a number of small children who live and play here. You can see them riding their bikes, playing ball, walking the dogs, etc. Visitors have also been speeding. If they are coming to visit you, please remind them of this. One board member flagged down two teenagers who were speeding, after leaving from visiting a homeowner’s family. If you see people speeding, please motion them to slow down. Help keep our neighborhood 
safe. Leave early and slow down.
