MINUTES OF SECRET WOODS NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION MEETING

DATE: October 8, 2007

LOCATION: Publix Meeting Room

BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Wayne Williams, Mary Loving, Katherine Frazier, Gary Bassett.

HOMEOWNERS PRESENT: John Loving, John Sittig, Byron DeLong, Joe Williams

Meeting was called to order; minutes from September 10, 2007 were read by Wayne Williams and accepted. The monthly treasurers’ report was also read and accepted.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

*Basketball Goal: Approval for the purchase of a basketball goal was given after the board approved of the one Beth Reiney researched on-line. The goal met the board’s specifications such as commercial grade, non-breakable glass backboard and break-away rim. The cost is $599 with no shipping costs and no taxes. Volunteer neighbors will install.

*Fountain in front pond: The board approved expenditures of $1800 for the replacement of the pump and motor in the fountain in the front pond.

*Water cooler at pool: A request was made to call Mike Shearer, a plumber, to repair the water cooler at the pool.

*Tennis screen: Approval was made to order the needed tennis screens.

NEW BUSINESS:

*Broken pipe at #1 sprinkler control: A request to repair the broken pipe at the #1 sprinkler control was made. Apparently this pipe has been broken several times by cars that pull too far forward while parking in the pool area parking lot. It was suggested that the board get a price on concrete curbs in hopes these may be a deterrent.

*New Concrete benches: It was discussed that while the board is getting quotes for concrete curbs that we should also get quotes on replacing our broken concrete tables and benches.

*Luminary Planning: Discussions were held on planning the Luminary Night in Secret Woods. The board chose Saturday, December 22 as the date for the event, and the rain date will be Sunday, December 23. Posting signs at intersections to advertise the event was also discussed. With such exquisite Christmas lights and decorations in our neighborhood, the board discussed having homes recognized and honored with signs put in the yards of the winners of pre-determined categories. The categories will be selected at the November meeting.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:00pm.

Respectfully submitted,

Katherine Frazier
Vice President/
Acting Secretary
